Sports Anchor, Telemundo Tampa
Yerman started his career in radio broadcasting when he was only 13 years old in his native country Colombia. At the age of 17 he moved to Miami to continue his studies at the University of Miami and quickly got involved in radio stations such as WRHC Cadena Azul, La Poderosa, Radio RCC-Klaridad and Radio Unica Network. In 1999, he started his career on TV as sports anchor for Telemundo Chicago, Univision Chicago, Azteca America and Univision Deportes Network. Throughout his career Yerman has covered three Soccer World Cups, Mexican Soccer Finals, MLS Finals, Super Bowls, MLB World Series and NBA finals. He has also had the privilege to be the official Spanish voice of the Chicago Fire (MLS) and Indy Eleven (NASL). In May 2015, Yerman decides to return to Florida after living in Chicago and Indianapolis and becomes part of Telemundo Tampa as the Sports Anchor of the local newscast Telenoticias Tampa.
Lieutenant, Hillsborough County Fire Rescue
Celia Merritt was born and raised in Tampa Bay. She graduated from USF and is a Lieutenant at Hillsborough County Fire Rescue. She has participated in the Fight For Air Climb for the past 7 years and is excited to be part of an event where she does not have to wear bunker gear. Celia also serves on the board of Heroes Housing Foundation and is currently finishing her RN degree program.
When Celia is not at work she has a beautiful and energetic 5 year old daughter, Rylee. She became involved with American Lung Association after her mother was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and given 6 months to live. Since becoming primary care giver to her mother, her family has worked diligently with both the ALA and Moffitt to help bring awareness and decrease the stigma associated with lung cancer. Her mother is currently undergoing treatment at Moffitt and is about to celebrate 7 years of survival. Celia is honored and elated to be able to participate in this years gala.
Business Development Consultant
A creator of entertainment experiences, networker, teacher, and customer relations specialist, Lydia has been affiliated with the events and entertainment industry for over 20 years. Throughout her journey, she has been able to go from participating in many events and fundraisers to teaching and empowering the children of Tampa Bay.
She considers herself to be highly blessed and devotes her life to her teenage daughter, surrounding herself with family and friends, enjoying the exquisite Florida lifestyle, and encouraging and supporting those in her community. Anyone who knows her will not be surprised by her extensive involvement in events of this nature.
Her time with Breezin’ Entertainment and Productions has allowed her to meticulously hone her skills in the events and entertainment industry, and has provided a firm foundation on which to cultivate her abilities.
Music and dance prove to be two of Lydia’s greatest passions, rivaled only by her desire to help those around her. She is honored to be a part of the Turquoise Tango Affair, where she can check off one of her many bucket list items and dedicate her dance to her mother, who had a zest for life and was an avid fan of Dancing with the Stars!
Director of Clinical Outreach, Sunspire Health Hyde Park
Alina Klein is a Florida native, hailing from Sarasota and living in Tampa for the past five years. She is the Director of Clinical Outreach at Sunspire Health Hyde Park, a residential substance abuse treatment center for women in south Tampa. Alina has many years of administrative and managerial experience, having worked as program manager for the Education Foundation of Sarasota and as intake coordinator for the Coastal Behavioral Healthcare Juvenile Assessment Center. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Miami, and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of South Florida. Currently, she is working toward a Master of Social Work degree at Saint Leo University. In her free time, Alina enjoys spending time with friends and family, and doing anything outdoors.
Dr. Keith Wilson
Medical Director, Wellcare of Florida
Dr. Wilson was born in the small west Texas town of Merkel. He graduated from the University of North Texas with a degree in chemistry, and from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston with a medical degree and a masters degree in pharmacology. He specialized in the area of pulmonary medicine and practiced and taught at Baylor and The Methodist Hospital in Houston for many years.
He first became involved with the American Lung Association in Houston, and served as Board Chair of the San Jacinto chapter for several years. After leaving academic practice, Dr. Wilson practiced in Pueblo, Colorado for ten years, and then entered into administrative practice, serving in a number of positions in hospitals and as director of a multi-specialty medical group in Tulsa, Oklahoma. For the last decade plus, he has been a medical director for insurance companies in Oklahoma, Connecticut, and now WellCare in Florida.
He enjoys hiking and blogging about the many Tampa outdoor trails, and kayaking in the Gulf Coast waters. He is also the proud father of 5 children, 3 of whom served in the US military, and one of whom is a Silver Star awardee for service in Afghanistan.
